This workshop is all about bringing a little joy to the everyday!
 
During this relaxed 2 hour session, you’ll decorate your own ceramic piece while being introduced to the beautiful Sgraffito technique. Using raw clay and coloured slips and underglazes, you’ll carve and create your own unique design to decorate a piece of pottery which is truly your own.
 
You’ll work on a pre thrown ceramic form, prepared by me in advance, so you can focus fully on the creative process. I’ll be on hand throughout the workshop to gently guide you as you explore this mindful and enjoyable technique.
 
This workshop will take place in my own studio, you will use the same tools and materials that I use to decorate my own pottery. All materials and tools are included, all you need to bring is yourself. You’ll have access to a range of colours, tools, and visual inspiration to help you create a design you love.  However feel free to bring along any images, sketches, or references that inspire you too.
Each workshop is designed to be informal, intimate, and welcoming with only 6 spaces in each.
 
Tea, coffee and some treats will be provided, and additional beverages will also be available to purchase from the onsite café.
 
Once your piece has dried, been fired, and glazed, I will post your piece to you (postage is included in price).
As pottery takes time to dry, fire, and glaze, you won’t be able to take your piece home on the day. Finished pieces will be ready in approximately 4 week, but they’ll be well worth the wait!

My studio is based at Meanwhile House, Cardiff, CF10 5DY and I will send out entrance details closer to the date of workshop.

The studio is access friendly and has accessible toilet facilities.
Parking at the studio is limited, with some free spaces, although this is not guaranteed - parking fills up quickly to please be aware to allocate enough time for this.
There is payable parking close to the studio however Cardiff Central Station is a short 7min walk away.
